SURFE2R Technology for Transporter Proteins

Iongate's SURFE2R technology is a label free device for measuring transporter proteins via their electrogenic transfer currents. This elegant as well as sensitive technology is based on a biosensor operated by a flow switching strategy. The biosensor contains the transporter proteins embedded in solid supported membrane vesicles (SSM). A key advantage fo the technique is that the transporter proteins are investigated in a cell free environment without the use of molecular labels.

Analytic Advisors helped to introduce the technology in the US and was involved in the first sale of a SURFE2R instrument at a major pharmaceutical company.
